Run through the holidays!

:snowflake: :evergreen_tree:It's that time of year when the temperature drops, the rain and snow starts to fall and the holiday events start to stack up. Because of all this we tend to let our running dwindle down for the year.

Don't get me wrong - I am all about taking time off from running when it's needed but just hear me out. How many times have you said to yourself "Wow, I can't believe its Thanksgiving already!" or "I have 12 presents to buy before tomorrow!"? Lets face it, the holidays make this time of year pretty crazy sometimes. Weeks that are jam packed with events and time with family can leave little time for yourself. Time that is needed so you can relax and enjoy the little things like the first snowflakes falling.

In comes your pal running! Spending time outside or on a treadmill at least a few times a week will give you that time to yourself. Winter is actually my favorite time of the year for trail running. There is nothing more refreshing than running through the woods on fresh snow listening to the little crunch of snow underfoot. Now, that is a fresh relaxing breath of crisp air. Heck, if anything I've become way better at holiday gifting. Running allows for lots of time to think of that perfect gift! Just wait till my older brother see's his limited release Brewery Ommegang Game Of Thrones beer set!

So what are you waiting for? Go get your run in! If you need a little extra spark of excitement - sign up for a holiday themed run. This weekend I will be running in the Ann Arbor Turkey Trot and in December I will be sporting an "Ugly Sweater" from INKnBURN during The Huff 50K! Lets race!
